Forest News 17 May 2010

Monday Bag–A–Coin started the week off with a bang.  Thanks to every single leaner who participated, Forest View managed to raise 293kgs of coins.  Well Done Forest View!!!

Grade 2L were the winners of this competition, with each child in Mrs Logan’s class donating over 2kgs of coins per learner.

Tuesday Grade 1N did assembly and the lesson highlighted was all about being different.  It was wonderfully presented.

Wednesday We played soccer and hockey against Hillcrest.  Well done Forest View as the hockey girls played their matches with enthusiasm.

Thursday  Grade 3 Mini Soccer was hosted by Forest View.  A wonderful afternoon was had by all.

Football Friday was MASCOT MANIA DAY.  Children dressed up in imaginative mascot costumes.  Of course the teachers encouraged as much creativity as possible and everyone used their imaginations to the full.  This meant that the judging was a very difficult task.

Teachers attended a staff development program on Friday afternoon at Focus on Ithemba.

There they were introduced to using colour in the teaching environment.  This was an exciting learning experience for all the teachers that attended.

Well done to our Cross Country runners who competed against 8 other Highway schools.

Saturday was a well-played game of rugby against Kloof Senior Primary.
